Shrimp Boil

Where: Milford VFW Post 6483 | 177 Veterans Cir, Milford, DE 19963
Milford VFW Post 6483’s Shrimp Boil is back. Please join us on Saturday April 12th between Noon and 4:00. Cost is $15.00 per meal and you get 1/2 pound of shrimp, 1/2 pound of potatoes, an ear of corn, 1/4 pound of sausage and dessert. Take out only. Weather permitting, sit by lake and enjoy the view. If you are lucky, our resident Bald Eagle will make an appearance. Call ahead suggested 302-422-4412. Thank you for supporting your local veterans.
Easter EggstravaganZoo
Saturday April 12th, Sunday, April 13th, and Saturday, April 19th, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Weather Permitting

This year’s Easter EggstravaganZoo will take place on Saturday, April 12th, Sunday, April 13th, and Saturday, April 19th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It’s a fantastic opportunity for families in the Townsend and surrounding areas to enjoy a festive spring outing while connecting with our rescued animals.
The event features a fun “Peeps” Easter Egg Hunt for children, charming Easter-themed displays throughout the zoo, and unique animal encounters with our adorable spring residents, including chickens, ducks, geese, sheep, bunnies, and donkeys. A special highlight that is always popular is the chance for children and families to meet and take photos with the Easter Bunny in his decorated parlor.
We believe this event offers a delightful local story with visual appeal and aligns well with content focused on family activities and community events during the Easter holiday.
3 Palms Zoo & Education Center is a non-profit rescue organization dedicated to providing a safe and enriching environment for animals in need. Events like the Easter EggstravaganZoo help us to continue our mission while offering educational and engaging experiences for the public.

Milford FFA Spring Plant Sale
April 19, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Milford FFA will be holding its annual spring plant sale at Milford High School starting on Saturday, April 19th, from 10 AM-2 PM. The sale will also be held on April 21st- April 24th from 9 AM- 1 PM and April 26th from 10 AM-2 PM. A variety of flowers and vegetables will be available for purchase in addition to hanging baskets. All proceeds support the program of activities of the Milford FFA Chapter and its 570+ members. The Milford FFA Chapter strives to develop member’s potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
Egg Hunts at Auburn Heights
April 18 & April 19 2025 | 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Hop on over for an egg-ceptionally fun time at Auburn Heights! This rain-or-shine event promises excitement for the whole family. Don’t forget to BYOB—Bring Your Own Basket!
Tickets WILL sell out and advance sales to the public start March 24 (Member Early Bird Registration begins March 17).
Admission:
• $15 per person (adults & children), infants under 1 are free.
• Members save 20%! Discounted tickets are based on membership level (see website for more details)
Gates open at 12:00 PM with train rides, kids’ crafts, and plenty to explore in the museum. All the day’s fun includes:
• Egg Hunt kicks off at 1:00 PM and is divided by age groups
• Meet & greet with the Easter Bunny
• Enjoy delicious food from local food trucks (On the Roll and Woodside Farm Creamery)
• Unlimited train rides on the Auburn Valley Railroad (1/8-scale coal-fired and diesel trains)

Women Supporting Women’s Quick Finisher 0.0 Un-Run

What is a Quick Finisher 0.0 Un-run? It is a marathon for the less active. This event is perfect for those who want to enjoy the atmosphere of a marathon without the actual running. Just line up at the start/finish line in your most comfortable “active wear.” At the sound of the horn, step across the line and then celebrate your strong finish with food, drinks, raffles, and music. It is a great way to bring people together for a good time without the physical exertion all while raising funds for Women Supporting Women.
