When this song came out I remember feeling frustration because it was EVERYWHERE. I couldn’t escape it. It was on the MTV/VH1 countdowns I would watch, it was on the radio, it was playing loudly in people cars driving through the school parking lot, but it was NOT on my radar at all. As a matter of fact, it was so popular that I grew to despise the song within seconds of hearing the first few drum beats of the song. I didn’t have the time or the desire after hearing it all the time and seeing the very bizarre pop-up style video for it- to really appreciate the song. Fast-forward several years and I found a new appreciation for, not just the song, but also the band and the album from which it came; Good News for People Who Love Bad News. Which brings us to today, 20 years later from it’s emergence on the scene, as our featured Throwback Thursday song.
