Mix it Up Monday: August 26th

A conversation was sparked this weekend with Brian Chase and myself. He had asked me what my top 3 graduation songs were. I sent 3 his way, but neglected to include “Photograph” by Nickelback which was my class song in high school. But I jokingly mentioned a song by the Newsboys which doesn’t really fit into the category but would make people give you the HUH sound effect. That in turn spiraled me down memory lane with some iconic tunes from the album “Take Me to Your Leader” by Newsboys.

I was absolutely not serious about this song for a graduation tune but it’s a fun tune that my siblings and I used to rock out to growing up. And I will ask again, how much do you think they paid in royalties for all those product references? 😂

And since we played Breakfast from their 1995 album “Take Me to Your Leader,” we also had to play the title song from the record too. Another positive, fun, upbeat tune for a Monday. With a silly music video to accompany it too!
